Digital SLR introductory-level course – 4 weeks
- Move from automatic shooting to having control over your digital SLR camera
- Achieve remarkable outcomes in translating your vision into results
- Explore powerful techniques for managing exposure, focus, and color balance
- Learn how to capture action in a wide range of lighting situations
Whether you’ve been taking digital photos for years or you’ve just acquired your first digital camera, “Foundations” can expand your understanding of digital photography. It will help you translate what you see in a scene to what you are capable of capturing in that photo.
This four-week introductory course not only covers fundamental photographic principles, it also teaches you how to effectively access and apply the wide array of camera functions available beyond the “automatic” settings of your digital camera. The dials and buttons will become tools rather than obscure or unknown camera features.
Once you go beyond the automatic mode, you’ll discover new levels of creativity and photographic quality that become possible by gaining control over exposure, focus, depth of field, and color balance for every picture you take.
Recommended weekly assignments help you apply new concepts to a variety of indoor, outdoor, and action photography subjects, then have your photos constructively reviewed during the following week’s class.
